Release Announcement: The Ghost, the Girl, and the Gun!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our researchers here in the Oktopod labs, we have something exciting to reveal this morning. Are you sitting down? You should really find a comfy chair to plant yourself in, preferably with a sturdy seat-belt and perhaps a refreshing beverage.

Today, we at Oktopod Digital Press are extremely proud to announce the first addition to our roster, and the immediate release of his first story. He’s a talented writer, an educator, a tireless proponent of NaNoWriMo, and a gentleman among scoundrels. May I humbly introduce my friend and compatriot, Ted Boone.

Ted, the stage is yours…

Ted Boone, instructor at University of Kansas School of Business, and long-time wannabe author. I’m a big proponent of NaNoWriMo, having completed the event for the last five years, and led the local chapter for the last two years. Always wanted to publish a novel, but never wanted to bother with the hassle of finding an agent/publisher. When Chris told me about Oktopod Digital Press, I was intrigued. So, I’m dipping my toes into the digital distribution arena with my short, The Ghost, the Girl, and the Gun. It’s a highly stylized story that’s a bit unusual for me (I typically write more serious sci-fi stories). That said: I LOVE this story! And I certainly hope you do, too.

Vengar gave us swords and sorcery, brawn and brutality. Now it’s time to add another flavor to our pulp anthology, inspired by the classic detective novels of old.

Are you ready for trenchcoats and treachery?
Where a man’s wit is his most reliable weapon, but his revolver’s always a good second choice?
Where a five o’clock shadow is just part of the uniform?
Where it’s bourbon for breakfast, knuckle sandwiches for lunch, and dangerous dames for dinner?
Are you ready to meet The Ghost?

The Ghost, the Girl, and the Gun

Casper O’Neal is a private investigator. He’s good at his job: his clients respect him, his targets fear him, and nobody particularly likes him. When he wakes up in his office with a throbbing headache, a smoking gun in his hand, and a dead body on the floor, Casper realizes he’s about to represent his toughest client: himself.

The Ghost, the Girl, and the Gun is a sharp and snappy tale, sure to give your sense of adventure a shot in the arm, and your sense of humor a sardonic grin of appreciation.

Where can you get the story? Lots of places!

Review(s):
This is where I need your help! No matter how you get the story, free or otherwise, if you like it, please post a review on Amazon and/or Smashwords. Reviews sell stories, so any input from friends and family would be SUPER-appreciated

If you decide to purchase the book from Kindle or Smashwords, the proceeds from your purchase will be donated Hearts United for Animals, a National no-kill shelter, sanctuary, and animal welfare organization dedicated to the relief of suffering. If you download one of the free versions and you enjoy my story, please consider making a donation of your own to this wonderful organization, or donate to your local animal shelter.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy!
